In my observation, I have noticed that the government is at least ten years behind medical “trends”, for lack of a better word. I don’t expect those two agencies to cover such a breakthrough any time soon.

never. medicaid and medicare are paid for by me and other tax payers. medicaid is free. medicare will not pay their doctors enough as it is (because of corrupt doctors)
its cosmetic surgery. like lipo. they will never cover lipo either. you could become a firefighter. i hear they have really great insurance.

Because lasik is as needed a surgery as.. well, nothing. If you have vision corrected by a cheaper and safer (who wants to pay for the million things that can go wrong with lasik) pair of glasses, why on earth should other tax payers be expected to dole out for you to look pretty?

When it costs the same as glasses. Maybe if you go to the “Lets **** Off Of The Taxpayers Store” you will find Lasik surgery on the same shelf as glasses but I highly doubt it. Why aren’t grateful that the the taxpayers pay for your glasses? It is hardly our fault that your are not responsible enough to not lose your glasses.

That’s really interesting how RUDE u ppl are, think about dumb asses 1 lasik surgery ($500-$1200) compared to glasses every 2 years ($250+ a pop)??? so u do the math, which do u think would cost US taxpayers less in the long run……….. oh and as for the whole taxpayer comments, eat shit, 73% of the medical bill is either (1)picked up by the government or (2) the doc eats the cost (which of course is inflated $ anyways, I mean common $300 to take ur temperature?????), look it up and get a clue, u dumb asses must be republican, lol

wow. i can see where if someone wanted lasik to be preety or what not but i am on madicaid i have epilepsi and i can NOT work. it is embarasing to be on medicaid untill my seizures got so bad that i was asked to take some time off to get my medical situation under controle. i held 2 jobs and worked to many hours to really eat or sleep. i how ever think in some situations it would be ideal for them to pay for lasik. when i have a seizure i am in the ground in seconds. i cant tell you how many times i have broke my glasses and hurt myself with my glasses. im not asking for a hand out a hand up! there is a big diference. o and by the way i dont drive a lex or live in a big house while im wearing a fist full of gold. i drive a 500 $ car live in a small house and i wear a cross my grandmother bought me years ago. so yes there are some people who get help from the government when they really dont need it. but not all of us are like that. and did i mention i am verry involved in my community. i volunter at my childrens school. i help in the church with the pre k’s i help in a soup kitchen i work with young girls who had children in highschool. so before you make your idiotic comment about people like me mooching off you think twice you might be offending someone who doesnt deserve your ill words.

I agree with jennifer there are so many people who is on medicaid or medicare who lies to the system. To get their health coverage. I’m a mother of three children who has paid taxes. Got injured on a medical run for the fire dept. So if you people don’t get the BIG picture everyone at one point in their life has paid taxes. You really need to think about the goverment spending our money on Bullshit ( like oil, when we have our own in reserve) But, NO it is the petty little thing that people worry about.
